TEAM OFFICIALS FOR INTERNATIONAL MEETS
Athletics PNG seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for various management and coaching positions for its teams to the June 2022 Mini Pacific Games in Saipan and the Commonwealth Games (July 2022)as follows
Team Manager Assistant Team Manager (s)
Head Coach Sprints and Hurdles coaches Multi Event Coach
Jumps Coach Throws Coach Middle and long distance coach
For Team Management positions, preference will be given to applicants from within the Sport, but they must demonstrate that they have the capability and experience to manage groups of young people from a wide range of backgrounds and be able to cope with the pressures of a high level competition.
The above is only an estimate of our total requirements across all Games and the final number of positions available for each competition will be determined by the size of the final team. Consideration will be given first to individuals who have demonstrated commitment to the promotion of our sport but in cases where such applicants do not meet the criteria we will consider other individuals. All successful candidates will be required to make a commitment to involve themselves in athlete preparation for the Games and assist in some way to facilitate the conduct of competitions in their respective centres.
No applicant will be endorsed by the PNG Olympic Committee until they have completed the Athlete Safeguarding Course and the Anti Doping Course (both available online) . Interested applicants should email their cv’s to png@mf.worldathletics.org and request a copy of the official application form. The application deadline is 30 October and it is not necessary to attach numerous certificates. Please note that all athletes and officials selected by Athletics PNG are subject to endorsement by the PNG Olympic Committee.
General Requirements:
· Possess a valid passport
· Active involvement in the Sport
· Appropriate level of Coaching Certification (for coaching positions)
· Knowledge of the sport of Athletics
· Management skills
· Demonstrate ability to mentor and guide young people
· Good communication and writing skills
· Complete the PNGOC Athlete Safeguarding Course (online)
· Complete the PNGOC Anti Doping Course
