Seven of PNG’s athletes were in action today at the Carrara Stadium Gold Coast on day three of the track and field competition. The highlights were Mowen Boino running his best 400m hurdles time since 2015 (51.61secs) and Afure Adah finishing fifth in her 200m heat in a time of 24.54secs. Peniel Richard registered a seasons best 6.98m in the long jump with his third and final jump. In the men's 200m Theo Piniau, Wesley Logorava and Nazmie Lee Marai recorded times of 21.76; 22.00 and 22.14 respectively. Ephraim Lerkin also ran the 400m hurdles, recording a time of 52.17secs.Athletes still to compete are Rellie Kaputin (Triple Jump tonight and Long Jump tomorrow) and on Thursday both Debono Paraka (Discus) and Peniel Richard (Triple Jump).
