Athletics PNG President Tony Green and General Secretary Philip Rehder visited the Gold Coast recently to attend a meeting with IAAF President Lord Sebastian Coe and delegates from other Oceania Member Federations. The meeting was part of a “Roadshow” being undertaken by Lord Coe to seek support from Member Federations for the final proposal for IAAF Governance Structure Reform.
Since taking office late in August 2015 the Council of the IAAF under the leadership of Coe have moved quickly to address the serious issues faced by the Sport of Athletics and have drawn up proposals to completely reform the governance structure of the organisation. The proposals will be voted on by all member federations at a special Congress Meeting in December. The roadshow was an opportunity for Coe and his team to explain the proposals to member federations and for delegates to offer comments and ask questions.
