Four PNG athletes have qualified to take part in the USA National Junior College Track and Field Championships in Mesa, Arizona this weekend and three others will participate in various relay events. Theo Piniau will represent South Western Community College Iowa in the 400m after posting an excellent personal best time of 48.17 secs in the 400m at the Regional Championships a week ago. Rellie Kaputin (jumps) Adrine Monagi (Heptathlon and Javelin) and Sharon Toako (Javelin) will all represent Northern Iowa Area Community College at the Championships.VeherneyBabob , Kalama Towarap and Priscillar John will represent NIACC in the Relay events.
Sharon Toako has improved her javelin throw to 41.87 metres and tops the National Junior College rankings. With Monagi 4th in the javelin rankings a great competition is expected between the two PNG girls. However eighteen year old Monagi will have a busy weekend as she will also contest the seven event Heptathlon and the 4*100m relay.
