In 2018, the AFL Coaching System will undergo some significant changes. This includes contemporary improvements to the delivery of coaching courses, access to educational content, resources and increased communication to the vast coaching network across the country.
On 1 March 2018, Coach.AFL will be launched, transforming the AFL Coaching Environment forever. Coaches of Australian Football will be better prepared than ever before to ensure they have a positive impact and enhance the experience for players, their families, clubs and the community.
One of the key changes will be a move away from a 4-year rolling coach accreditation towards a new annual coach membership (12 months). Another, will be the establishment of a Foundation Coaching Course, which will replace the Level 1, and will be able to be obtained online.
Coaches will be required to participate in coaching workshops throughout their coaching journey to keep their membership current and ensure they have access to modern and cutting-edge coaching tools/resources.
More information will be available very soon on the new direction for Coaching Nationally. However, in the meantime, no Coaching Course dates will be released for Tasmania prior 1 March 2018.
