For 21 year old Rocco Reyes, baseball is in his blood.
Growing up in CNMI, Reyes’s father was a baseball coach and even more – a baseball enthusiast. His passion for the game was passed on to him.
During Thursday’s game against Team Pohnpeis, Reyes was key to CNMI’s victory. With the game tied up, Reyes hit the ball out to centerfield; Pohnpei’s outfielder missed the catch letting CNMI walk away with the victory (6-5).
When asked what was going through his mind before he hit the game winner, he replied that he was “thinking of the team...the only reason why we train and the only reason why we came is to take back the gold medal that belongs to us in the CNMI, that’s our goal!”
