Julian Burt delighted to continue as Patron

The Football Hall of Fame Western Australia is pleased to announce that Julian Burt JP will continue in his role as Patron. Mr Burt first honoured the Hall of Fame with his patronage in 2003 and we look forward to working together in the future.
"I am delighted to continue as Patron of the Football Hall of Fame Western Australia," said Mr Burt, whose ancestors are responsible for establishing our code's first administration in Western Australia.
"The Burt Family have been associated with football in this State since its' foundation and I have been honoured to keep that link alive by being Patron of the Hall of Fame for 17 years."
"Since being established 24 years ago the Hall of Fame has recognised and showcased the players, administrators and referees who have contributed to the rich history of football in Western Australia through six induction ceremonies and various other celebrations."
"The Hall of Fame's charter also includes the preservation and protection of our football heritage. Our ultimate aim is a Football Museum and I look forward to working with the Hall of Fame to make that become a reality."
The Burt Family are synonymous with Western Australia. The Hon. Septimus Burt KC, the State's first Attorney General under responsible government, and five of his six sons inspired the game's official birth in this State. One of those sons, Frederick Burt, is the great-grandfather of Julian Burt.
In May 1896 Frederick Burt assisted with setting up the British Football Association. He captained Perth FC to the Division One title (1902) and lined up in Western Australia's first ever international fixtures (1902, 1904). Frederick Burt was later bestowed with Life Membership of the British Football Association.
Sir Francis Burt, Julian Burt’s great uncle, served Western Australia in the capacity of Chief Justice and Governor. Sir Francis Burt was the Hall of Fame’s inaugural Patron (1996), a role the then State Premier Geoff Gallop stepped into in 2002.
