The 2022 NPLWA – Women’s season will begin on Friday 1 April with champions Murdoch University Melville getting the ball rolling with a home match against Subiaco (7.30pm).

MUM FC made it back-to-back league titles when they beat nearest rivals Northern Redbacks 2-1 in the final game of the 2021 campaign.

And having also collected the State Cup and Top Four Cup, they will likely be the team to beat once more.

There are two 5pm matches the following day, both of which directly follow NPLWA – Men’s games.

At Dorrien Gardens, Perth SC face Balcatta Etna. Perth have Peter Rakic as head coach this season, while Balcatta recently appointed Steve Atkins. This match follows the Azzurri’s Round Three men’s clash against Armadale.

At the same time at ECU Football Stadium, it’s the dawn of a new era for Redbacks as they start life as Perth RedStar following their union with ECU Joondalup. The new team face Hyundai NTC, which comes on the back of the RedStar men’s game with Inglewood United.

The final match of Round One is on Sunday 3 April when Fremantle City host Curtin University at Hilton Park (3pm).

The season will be played over 21 rounds with teams facing each other three times.
