Youngster Jayden Gorman was the matchwinner for Perth SC as they overcame Bayswater City 3-2 to reach the semi-finals of the NPL Night Series.

The 17-year-old struck four minutes from time as the Azzurri joined Pool One leaders Floreat Athena in the last four.

Andreas Theodosiades and Gustavo Catarcione were Perth’s other scorers at Frank Drago Reserve, while Bayswater’s goals came through a Daryl Nicol penalty and Jason Mirco.

Floreat, seeking to win the Night Series for the third straight year, advanced with their 100% record intact as they beat Cockburn City 2-1 at Dalmatinac Park.

A penalty from Dennis Gallen and a Chris Saldaris goal had Athena two up by the break, before David Dos Santosn puled one back for City.

Perth and Floreat meet next week to decide who will finish on top of the pool.

The third match in Pool One ended with another heavy loss for Rockingham City, this time at the hands of ECU Joondalup.

The Jacks ran out 5-1 winners, with doubles for Andy Higgins and Ben Hinshelwood. Danny Hodgson got the other for Kenny Lowe’s side, while Ryan Kennedy was on target for Rockingham.

Gwelup Croatia are all but certain of qualifying as Pool Two winners following their 2-0 defeat of Armadale.

Daniel Stynes and Hasani Sinclair scored the goals which restored Gwelup’s three-point advantage over Perth Glory and Inglewood United, who both won on Friday night at Percy Doyle Reserve.

Charlie Leech, Josh Rawlins and Carlo Armiento scored for Glory in their 3-1 win over Balcatta. Adam Zimarino got Balcatta’s goal.

Inglewood defeated Sorrento 2-1 thanks to Robert Petkov’s late winner. Alex Morgan struck the opener for Sorrento while Steve Sokol brought United level.
