NPL Night Series: Perth SC beat Rockingham 9-1

Perth SC ran riot against sorry Rockingham City to go top of Pool One in the NPL Night Series.
 
Kieran Colwell, Jayden Gorman and Yacoub Mustafa scored two apiece as the Azzurri won 9-1 at Dorrien Gardens.
 
Skipper Thomas Southgate, Sasa Njegic and a Michael Farmer own goal completed the scoring for Perth, with Riley Van Dieken’s first-half penalty Rockingham’s one bright spot in the Round Two clash.
 
Perth move above Floreat Athena on goal difference, the two sides in the pool with 100% records.
 
Floreat beat Bayswater 3-0 on Friday and today announced the return of their former player-coach Ante Kovacevic as their interim head coach following Garrett McDulling’s resignation.
 
Also in Pool One, ECU Joondalup recorded their first win under coach Kenny Lowe.
 
New signing Danny Hodgson headed the only goal on nine minutes as the Jacks defeated Cockburn City at Dalmatinac Park.
 
Gwelup Croatia had too much for Perth Glory in Pool Two, running out 3-1 winners.
 
Goals from Daniel Stynes and Blair Govan had Taki Nicolaidis’ team two up at the interval at Dalmatinac Park. Hasani Sincair added the third, before Ciaran Bramwell’s late consolation for Glory.
 
Inglewood United had no trouble getting past Armadale as they won 3-0.
 
It was all over inside half an hour at Dorrien Gardens as a double from Robert Petkov and a Steve Sokol goal wrapped up the points.
 
The other Round Two match took place at Frank Drago Reserve on Friday, where Adam Zimarino netted in the final minute to secure Balcatta’s 3-2 win over Sorrento.
