Perth SC are just three wins from retaining the National Premier Leagues WA title after they defeated Inglewood United 4-0 at Dorrien Gardens on Saturday.

The Azzurri maintained their eight-point gap at the top of the table and with just five remaining another nine points will mean they are unable to be caught.

The visit of Andres Oliveira's side was supposed to be one of the more testing examinations in the run-in for Ramon Falzon and his team. But it proved to be one of their more comforatble afternoons against a side who finished the match with 10 men.

Perth striker Gustavo Catarcione opened the scoring on 22 minutes when he swept home an uncleared corner at the far post. The assistant referee flagged for offiside but he was overruled after the referee realised an Inglewood defender had been standing on the goalline.

Perth went 2-0 up not long after through a Harley Orr penalty, which was given for handball, and Inglewood were never in the game from that point.

That was confirmed in the 68th minute when Mark Barnett bundled over Michael Domfeh, who was bearing down on goal, and was shown a red card. Paul Zimarino took the free-kick, which was blocked. Zimarino hit the rebound and that was blocked, too. Eventually the ball dropped at the left foot of Nicolo Sabatini and he smashed in a fizzing half volley to make it 3-0.

Perth's fourth was an individual effort from Domfeh, who cut through the Inglewood defence before calmly finishing with his left foot.
