Perth Glory moved five points clear at the summit of the NPL WA after an impressive 3-1 win away at Bayswater City.

Michael Domfeh struck on the half-hour with an opportune finish from six yards in a first half of few chances at Frank Drago Reserve.

Bayswater challenged after the break and levelled from the spot through Gian Albano, but Daniel Stynes scored a penalty for Glory before Henry Hore sealed it superbly with seven minutes to play.

It was Glory's first victory over Bayswater in the NPL and coach John Gibson was delighted to move clear at the top of the league.

"It's the first time we've ever beaten them [Bayswater] so historically we are really happy, but we were challenged at the start of the second half," he said.

"We had to cope with that and we did that pretty well for the majority of the time.

"It was good to come back straight away [after conceding the equaliser], it sprung us into life, but they've been the best team for four or five years and to come here and win, yeah, it's pretty cool."

Despite Glory's impressive form in 2018, Gibson won't get carried and said there was still work to do if his team were to be rewarded for their efforts.

"We haven't achieved anything still," he said.

"We would love to be in a position like Bayswater where they have won the title several times, and the league as well, so we will work harder and stronger still and keep progressing forward with consistent performances."

Set-pieces provided the only source of goalmouth action in a fairly uneventful first half-hour, before Glory scored with their first clear chance.

Yacoub Mustafa competed well for Choc Dau's cross and the ball dropped to Domfeh who poked home to make it 1-0.

After the break Bayswater improved and they were given an opportunity from the spot when Luca Bodnar felled Luke Salmon.

Albano squeezed home the penalty, but seven minutes later Glory went up the other end and were awarded a spot-kick of their own when Stynes was fouled.

Stynes, who had been on the pitch for only a couple of minutes before winning the penalty, got up, stepped up and put it into the corner for 2-1.

Again the hosts responded as David Stokoe prodded over from a Howarth corner, before Paul Lloyd's drive was charged down by a determined Glory rearguard.

The visitors held firm and rubber-stamped another impressive showing with a cracker from Hore, as he moved across the edge of the penalty area before firing into the top corner.

Glory nearly had a fourth when Callum Timmins volleyed wide but it mattered little as the win, along with Cockburn's 2-1 defeat at Perth, put Glory five points clear.
