Inglewood United flexed their muscles to open up a three-point lead at the top of the PS4 NPLWA with a convincing 7-0 demolition of Joondalup United.

Andy Keogh’s side rarely looked troubled as a flurry of goals just before the interval gave them an unassailable lead at Percy Doyle Reserve.

They found the net inside five minutes as a long diagonal ball over the top found Choc Dau who outpaced the Joondalup defence to score.

Joondalup United fought back and worked their way into the game, even though James Bosdet pulled off a couple of saves to keep them within reach.

Inglewood doubled their lead on 35 minutes when Bosdet came out of his area to clear and Brian Woodwall fired into the empty net from distance.

The travelling support were barely done celebrating as first Ashley Rosindale evaded several challenges to fire home, before Dau netted his second to remarkably put the visitors 4-0 up at half-time.

Joondalup boss Nick Jennings shuffled his men in a bid to find a way back into the contest, but Alex Dunn thwarted any possible route back into the game with a fine low save from Josh Whitmore.

Woodall ended any hopes of a comeback though, with his second of the afternoon when he cut in from the left wing before firing low past Bosdet.

Substitute Kenny Keogh added goal number six when he finished from close-range, following good work from the league’s top scorer Alex Salmon.

Salmon then got on the scoresheet himself, as he stepped up to the penalty spot to score his 23rd goal of the season, after Keogh was fouled in the penalty area.
