A first-half blitz saw Perth SC reach the Women’s State Cup semi-final last night as they brushed aside fellow NPL top-four contenders Fremantle City.

The Azzurri did not look back once Ella Lincoln gave them the lead after only two minutes.

Emma McMurdo doubled that advantage before the 10-minute mark and the game was as good as over five minutes later when Jaime Duncanson added a third.

Half-an-hour in and Duncanson had added to her tally, as Fremantle were left reeling.

Things were calmer in the second half and Freo got on the scoresheet through Tash Rigby near the end, but it was a comfortable 4-1 win for Perth at the final whistle.

Joining them in the last four this week were Perth RedStar and Curtin University, the top and bottom of the NPLWA – Women’s competition.

Curtin advanced on the back of a forfeit from State League side Mandurah City.

RedStar, meanwhile, won 12-0 against another State League team, Armadale. There were hat-tricks for Jay Coleman and Larissa Walsh, two for Sarah Carroll and goals from Emily Dunn, Claudia Hunt, Carla Bennett and Bronwyn Studman.

The final quarter-final is next Tuesday and it’s another State League v NPL game as Sorrento host Balcatta Etna.

This weekend’s NPL Round 14 matches begin tonight as the bottom two meet at Edinburgh Oval with Curtin University taking on Subiaco.

Runaway leaders Redstar face Balcatta tomorrow, then on Sunday it’s Perth SC v MUM FC and Fremantle City against Hyundai NTC at Hilton Park.

Round 14 fixtures

Friday (7pm): Curtin University v Subiaco. Saturday (5pm): Perth RedStar v Balcatta Etna. Sunday (3pm): Perth SC v MUM FC, Fremantle City v Hyundai NTC.
