Caitlin Doeglas scored two minutes from time to break Subiaco hearts as Perth Soccer Club snatched a 2-1 win at Dorrien Gardens on Sunday.

Doeglas' second goal in two games came less than a minute after Dylan Davidson's equaliser had put Subiaco on the cusp of their first NPL point of the season.

But the visitors were left stunned as they failed to react to a long punt forward, allowing Abbey Meakins to slip in Doeglas who stabbed in the winner.

It was a tough lesson for Subiaco, who again had nothing to show for another battling performance.

Subiaco limited Perth to few clear chances, the first of which came after Zoe Spadano played a nice one-two with Doeglas on the edge of the area before firing straight at Marissa Pidgeon.

At the other end, Opal-Rae Wright brought a fine reflex save from Rebecca Bennett.

Pidgeon had to be alert to save from Meakins just past the hour mark but the Azzurri eventually broke the deadlock on 78 minutes. They won a free-kick wide on the right and it taken quickly to Spadano who unleashed a brilliant curling strike into the top corner.

But Subiaco had been resilient all afternoon and they found an equaliser nine minutes later when Davidson netted at the second time of asking following a three-on-two break from the visitors.

However, they were level for less than a minute. Perth launched the ball forward straight from the restart, Liana Cook passed to Meakins and she fed Doeglas who netted beyond Pidgeon.

Round Nine started in spectacular fashion on Friday, as Northern Redbacks extended their unbeaten start to six matches with a 3-1 come-from-behind win over defending champions Murdoch University Melville.

Abbey Green lobbed onto the roof of the net during a first half dominated by the hosts, and they netted a deserved opener when Charli Wainwright curled nicely into the far corner.

Shawn Billam fired one wide of Zara Board's post moments before half-time, but it was the introduction of Renee Leota by Redbacks coach Carlos Vega Mena at the break which swung the tide.

Billam was involved again early in the second half when Katie Schubert fouled the midfielder in the penalty area. Kim Carroll stepped up to score from the spot in her second game back at Redbacks since returning from W-League duties with Brisbane Roar.

MUM FC’s Katarina Jukic then nearly profited from a wayward Andrea Teixeira touch but Diederichsen came to the rescue.

That save was key as Redbacks countered and took the lead on 64 minutes when Leota released Larissa Walsh to rattle in her fourth in three games.

Jukic headed just wide of Diederichsen's post with MUM FC's best chance to equalise, but their second defeat of the season was confirmed in style near the end when Jacinta Coleman scored from 35 yards.

The other game on Friday saw Fremantle City and Balcatta draw 1-1 at Wauhop Park.

Chelsie Winchcombe sliced an early cross onto the top of Balcatta's crossbar, but it was Fremantle City who took the lead through Matilda Boyle's first goal of the season on 32 minutes.

The equaliser came on 56 minutes when Epril Nossent was fouled by Isabelle Bridger and Kim McCartney stepped up to the penalty spot to make it 1-1.

Finally, Hyundai NTC surged to third place following Saturday’s 4-1 victory at Curtin University.

Eleanor Bates opened the scoring for Curtin inside five minutes, but Monique Prinsloo pulled NTC level with a tap-in from close range.

It was a tight battle in driving rain at the Curtin campus before NTC broke the game open with three goals in the final 24 minutes to close to within a point of second place MUM FC.

Judy Connolly put the visitors ahead with a neat finish into the bottom corner 67 minutes, then Ella Lincoln went through on goal and slotted home NTC's third. It was left to Connolly to put the exclamation mark on a fine individual performance with a superb free-kick.
