Perth SC put on a clinical performance to beat Forrestfield United 3-0 at Dorrien Gardens on Saturday afternoon as Ramon Falzon's side made it five wins on the bounce.

Goals from Paul Zimarino, Richard Howles and Matthew Milenkovic gave Perth the points and ensured they remain in second place behind NPL WA leaders Bayswater on goal difference.

Falzon praised his team’s consistency and was delighted with the clean sheet against a strong Forrestfield outfit.

“I'm happy with the result and the consecutive clean sheets,” Falzon said.

“It’s good that we are now getting some consistency in the performances and results.

“It wasn’t a polished performance from us but mainly credit to them.

“I think the scoreline was a bit too harsh for Forrestfield - they played good football and were competitive all game long.

“It’s good to get them out of the way because I think they are going to upset some big teams.”

Forrestfield coach Rod Banjac was disappointed with the result but was upbeat about his team’s performance.

“A very disappointing result,” Banjac said.

“The game was in the balance until the final minutes and obviously experience prevailed and a bit of a lucky bounce going their way, but that’s football.

“I’m very satisfied with our boys.

“This game was always going to be an indicator as to how far we have gone with our development and the way we conduct ourselves on the park.

“For us to match them throughout the game is very pleasing and we can only get better after this and we will be simply because of the experience.”

Perth had an early chance to open the scoring through Gustavo Catarcione, who saw his shot past keeper Ben Parry cleared off the line.

Niccolo Sabatini then had a free header but was denied by a great save from Parry, who got down low to stop the ball sailing into the bottom corner.

Perth finally took the lead in the 39th minute when Sabatini put in a great through ball. Parry blocked the first atempt but the ball went straight to Zimarino who blasted it into the net.

Howles made it two in the 77th minute as he received the ball in front of goal and slotted it past Parry.

And the scoring was rounded off two minutes later as Milenkovic slid the ball past Parry following a good counter attack.
