Liz Triffitt has been announced as the new formed South East Football League’s Operations Manager.
An experienced sports administrator, Liz has had a wide variety of roles across a number of sports and businesses, however it was her love of the football environment which led to setting her sights on this position.
Many involved in football in the region may remember or have dealt with Liz when in 2009, she led the former Dandenong District Junior League clubs through the complex issues of the league at that time and successfully delivered the outcomes of the Future Directions Review Project for AFL Victoria; a project which led to the formation and current structure of the South East Juniors.
Her role involved leading clubs through the strategic planning process, a new governance structure, developing and implementing system and processes, budget management, establishing partnerships and the management of the league’s operations and staff.
Liz has more recently worked in local government and business, focused on project work which required the creation and implementation of strategies and structural change. Her most recent position (in which she is departing for the SEFNL) was with Little Athletics Victoria as their Competition, Events and Marketing Manager.
In announcing the appointment, AFL South East Region General Manager Jeremy Bourke said “Liz’s experience in organisational change, her knowledge of the region, clubs and operating systems are the perfect fit for the needs of the newly established SEFNL. What impressed the interview panel and what Liz will bring to the role is a highly professional, organised and engaging approach.”
Liz will commence her role on February 23 and be based at Casey Fields, working closely with AFL South East, South East Juniors, Casey Scorpions and the Melbourne FC in the venue’s administrative complex .
