The next generation of football talent take the stage on the Gold Coast from tomorrow when the National U16 Championships get underway. Within the Vic Country ranks are three players from the AFL South East Region - Luke Dalmau (Somerville JFC), Reece Piper (Cranbourne FC) and Josh Battle (Doveton FC).
All three are part of the Dandenong Stingrays program, with Luke having played 4 matches this season with the Somerville JFC U16's after representing the Peninsula Stingrays in the 2013 V/Line Cup U15 program. Reece and Josh have played 1 game each for Cranbourne and Doveton respectively in the Casey Cardinia U17 competition in 2014, after both coming through the SEJ Metro Championship program in 2013. Their junior clubs where Fountain Gate JFC (Reece) and Narre South Lions (Josh)
The carnival gets underway tomorrow (July 4) with Vic Country playing South Australia at Metricon Stadium at 7pm. Their last match will be next Friday (July 11) against Vic Metro.
