MSBL Player of the Week - Rnd 7
THE Week Seven Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Shawn Redhage of the Texture WA Perth Redbacks.
Labelled the Scoring Machine during his illustrious career in the NBL with the Perth Wildcats, Shawn Redhage lived up to his nickname on the weekend putting together a masterclass performance.
Friday night saw the Perth Redbacks drop a closely contested match up with the star-studded Perry Lakes Hawks at Belmont Oasis going down 85 to 90 with Redhage scoring 22 points along with 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks.
Disappointed with the previous night’s result, the Redbacks led by Redhage, came out firing on Saturday night against the defending champions the Cockburn Cougars at Wally Hagan Basketball Stadium.
Redhage was unstoppable dropping a massive 46-point game with 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block as the Perth Redbacks were victorious 107 to 89.
The Redbacks now hold a record of 7 wins and 2 losses to start the season and with Michael Vigor, Marshall Nelson, Lee Roberts and Tyler Viskovich all still to be added to the squad this season.
