Job Purpose

To support the Executive Officer to coordinate the delivery of the Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea (BFPNG)’s community engagement program, Hoops for Health, and provide administrative support to the running of BFPNG as tasked by the Executive Officer.

 

Description

The Administration Officer is responsible for supporting the Executive Officer to implement the Hoops for Health program and provide BFPNG with administrative support. This includes coordinating the implementation of the Hoops for Health workplan including organizing activities and trainings, being responsible for all administration and reporting associated with the program, online and print communications and marketing as well as other tasks associated with BFPNG.

 

The right candidate for the Administration Officer position is someone who has good writing skills and is a competent, skilled and experienced administrator who is eligible to work in Port Moresby. He or she must have strong organisation skills, experience with the use of social media and the ability to coordinate small teams. Experience with in sport is preferred but not essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

The Administration Officer will carry out all necessary measures commensurate with their role and functions, to meet performance targets set by the Executive Officer. In particular:

 

1)    Implement the BFPNG Community Engagement initiative, Hoops for Health, work plan;

2)    Develop plans, monitor and coordinate resources and ensure successful project milestones are met;

3)    Ensure monitoring and evaluation is carried out as per agreed framework and plan;

4)    Keep database of players, coaches and referees;

5)    Coordinate logistics, training and schedules of volunteers to implement activities;

6)    Administer timely quality reports, status updates, budgets and discussion papers to the Executive Officer as required by stakeholders;

7)    Manage equipment inventory;

8)    Coordinate meeting opportunities with external stakeholders as required by Executive Officer;

9)    Update BFPNG website and social Media to promote BFPNG activities

10)Preparation of media releases, building relationships with local media and recording all print media coverage;

11)Perform general administrative tasks as requested by BFPNG Executive Officer.
