Club Championships Up For Grabs in Three Classes
Most interest will
centre on the 125's, Sabot 1-up and Lasers in this weekend's final
heats of the Club Championship.
Whilst the Skiffs,
Laser Radial and Sabot 2-up championships have been wrapped up by LMA (Lauren
Thorburn), Flashback (Steve Geck) and Kid Blast (Lily Geck), the overall
championship is very much up for grabs in the other fleets.
Most pressure will
be on Aiden Geck to make it a Geck Family clean sweep. His closest rival,
Lachlan Robba in Mydas Touch 2 will need to beat Aiden by between 1 and 4
places (depending on high up in the fleet he finishes), to steal the
championship.
In the 125's
the second running boat, Waterloo (Jenny Anderson) will need to win, with Doug
Brewer and Jenny's father John in "J" needing to finish worse
than 4th, for Jenny to snatch the title.
The closest fleet
is the Lasers with Just 4.4 points separating the first three boats overall.
Currently leading by just 1.7 points is Rocking Chair (Michael Wilson). Second
overall is Pearl
(Dave Harrison) and third Value Picture Framing (Dan Blight).
To overtake
Rocking Chair, Pearl
will need to either finish in the top five and beat Rocking Chair or, beat him
by at least two places if they finish outside the top five.
Value Picture
Framing will need to beat Rocking Chair by between two and five places
(depending on how high up the fleet he finishes) and between one and three
places to overtake Pearl.
