Aiden Geck in his Sabot "Wobbly Boot" finished third in the Australian Sabot Championships (1 UP Division) held at the Whitsunday Sailing Club in Airlie beach. In a highly competitive fleet of 58 boats, Aiden sailed an incredibly consistent series, finshing just 6 points behind the winner and 1 point behind second place. Aiden had just one placing outside the top 10 in the ten race series, a fantastic performance.
In the 2 UP Division, Trevor Koreman/Maggie Bowden in "The Razors Edge" came in 6th overall, with Lily Geck/Xanthe Walker in "Kid Blast", in 8th place.
In the "Jim Hayes Sabot Week" Event (for boats not contesting the championship), Natalie Koreman in "Cookie Munster" finished 2nd overall out of 23 competitors in the 1 UP Division, a great result. Nicholas Eutick came 13th and Max Von Richter, 15th. In the 2 UP Division, BSS boat "The Fiddler", Fraser Smith/Hugo Von Buuren finished in first place, a great effort at their first major series. Liam Geck/Elija Walker (Kid Blast) came in third after only taking up sailing in the previous few months.
Congratulations to all BSS crews who contested the racing in Airlie Beach.
