Pleasant sailing conditions with a southerly wind of around 10-12 knots prevailing for most of the afternoon.
Division 1 was a bit of a non-event with the Taipans away at a regatta in South Australia and others out with gear failure.
In Division 2 Col Franke didn't quite have it all his own way with Mark Axton close enough in the third race of the day to take out handicap honours. Ned Johnson and Will Palmer had a good battle in the Lasers with honours even on the day.
The best racing was in Division 3 with Michael Boswell winning the first two heats. The Sabres were neck and neck all day, with Alan Bryson, Anthony Cook, Josh Franke and Bryan Hill all taking a top three finish in one of the races.
For the first time in a while we had a novice division entrant with Leigh Harvie joining the fleet in his Opti. Leigh improved his time around the course by an incredible 30% between the first and third races. Just shows what a bit of confidence can do once that first race is completed! Hopefully we see some more green fleeters keeping Leigh company on the next few Sunday afternoons.
