Well the bureau got it pretty wrong on Sunday! Forecast winds of 10 knots turned into 20 knots + as the sea breeze came in with a vengeance around 1.30. Xavier abandonned the plan of going with the light-weight crew of Hugo or Louis, in favour of taking both of them and finally settled on Alexander Jurovic who was more than happy to jump back on a Hobie. Kristian Willand and Jane suffered gear problems on the way to the start as did Vincent Cross in his new A-Class. Lucy Gray braved the conditions in the only Opti to start but the big swell proved too much in the end.
The Division 1 start was keenly contested with an individual recall but Xavier and Alexander got away to a flyer with Adam and Joshua almost covering them when the block attaching the jib to the halyard exploded bringing their race to an end.
A fast and exciting race ensued with Simon Spalding sailing brilliantly to just beat Xavier and Alexander with Steve Cross and Lynn Dugay maintaining their good recent form to take third place
