The job of running our club does place some significant demands on the committee, especially when work and family commitments unexpectedly ramp up.
Recently the committee has regretfully accepted the resignation of two elected members, Laurinda Dugay and Cindy Tilbrook. While Cindy and Laurinda will continue to be active members of the club, and have both expressed a desire to take on leadership positions at the club when they again have time to do so, work and family commitments means that they are not able to do a job they would be proud of in the Secretary and Membership Secretary roles respectively.
Fortunately we have other members who have decided to step up to take on some more responsibility to facilitate the smooth running of the club. Under clause 32.7 of the consititution the committee has (re-)appointed Bronny Donnelly to the vacant Secretary role for the remainder of the term of office. Also, under clause 31 of the constitution the committee has co-opted Monica Pease to the committee in the role of Membership Secretary.
WYC's committee for the remainder of 2015-16 is now as follows:
Commodore |
Adam H Smith |
Vice Commodore |
Steve Cross |
Rear Commodore |
Andrew Hill |
Treasurer |
Graham Henderson |
Secretary |
Bronny Donnelly |
General Committee (Immediate Past Commodore) |
Roger Crabtree |
General Committee (Membership Secretary) |
Monica Pease |
General Committee (Patrol Boat Captain) |
Frank Jurovic |
General Committee (Power Boat Membership Liaison) |
Ange Pietromonaco |
General Committee |
Brendan Corcoran |
General Committee |
Robert Pease
|
Thanks to Bronny and Monica for stepping in.
Also, a big thanks to Christiane Coutant who, despite resigning from the Membership Secretary role over a year ago, has continued to ensure our membership processes run smoothly, has done the blk of the work in transitioning the club to the new Wild Apricot membership database and has committeed to training and supporting Monica as she takes on this important role.
Michael Boswell has also played a significant role in the transition to the new membership database, despite the demands of starting his new business (for delicious meals any day call 131-Pizza or visit Giuseppe's Pizza in Bittern)
Despite these challenges the committee has functioned very well this year with a blend of experience and the energy and new ideas of Cindy, Graham Henderson and Robert Pease. This is a formula we would like to perpetuate and so we need to identify a couple of new faces to join next year's committee so that we can start educating them on how they can contribute. if you would like to take your turn at contibuting to club adminsitration, please advise any member of the current committee.
