With blow outs and the subsequent knock-on effects on our club racing calendar, the Summer Series has been a long time getting underway. On a warm day, the northerly did the right thing and puffed up over 10 knots for the first start. This saw some good close racing (with a little confusion because of the rare starboard hand course configuration). In Division 1, Toby Cross and Monica Burford sailed well in their first club race to take second place. Colin Franke had a comfortable win in Division 3 and in Division 5 Brendan Corcoran managed to finish the race despite his trampoline falling apart during the race.
Unfortunately the wind gradually gave up in the second race, but surprisingly it was the heavy weights in Division 1 who sailed brilliantly. Kristian and Ollie Willand would have been first to cross the finish line if they had've realised where it was! It was left to Steve Cross and Lyn Dugay to take first place over AndrewHill in his new Taipan. Colin Franke again came up trumps in Division 3.
It was pleasing to see the Green Fleet on the water for the first races this year. In particular well done to Elodie Sleath, a Tackers 2 participant this summer who completed her fist races.
