A big day at the club on Saturday July 26 saw working party including Frank, Ange, David, Adrian, Adam (Snr and Jnr), Andrew (McInnes), Roger, Joe, Andrew (Hill), Bruce, Glen, Colin, Terry, Alan, Brendan, Matthew & Donna, Ron, Josh & Pauline (probably missed a few - sorry!) pruning, weeding and generally tiding up the flora in front of the club. Check the webcams (during the day) to see how much more of the beach and areas around the ramp is now easily visible - a great safety measure. You'll also notice the pile of ashes near the wash bay that is all that remains of the pile of cuttings that was built through the day. Thanks also to Ranger Paul who briefed the working group and helped us to identify weeds and understand how we could prune the area without detracting from the ground cover required by the local fauna.
Mark Schapper & Lynn Dugay got the BBQ ready for lunch.
It was then on to the Christmas in July celebration, a terrific night which returned a handy surplus for the club. The clubrooms looked fantastic thanks in particular to the the lighting provided by Nick Jones, (installed by Russell Jones & Lynn Dugay).
We had a great team of helpers in and around kitchen & dinner production. Adrienne Dugay, Heather Crabtree, Wendy Franke, Marg Douglas, Leanne Etherson , new member Julie McInnes and "Friday nighters" Pam & Danny Hills & Rosalie Erlandson, & meat cook Bruce Douglas. Judy Corcoran patiently stitched the new table cloths and runners. Thanks to Ron for stocking and manning the bar with help from Colin & Roger.
Frank and Terry and and handful of willing young helpers kept an eye on the ti-tree cutting bonfire in the yard.
A memorable day - thanks to all
