A very busy and successful month.
- Boating safety Grant application was successful. Sufficient money has been provided to run a program to assist members obtain a boating licence and thereby increase the number of members available to drive Rescue boats
- Balnarring PS Introduction to Tackers Program has been held with 65 students enjoying the activities
- Rudolf Steiner School Melbourne again held their sail camp with 31 students from Year 6 enjoying two days on the water using the Pacers. They have already booked for next year.
- A huge thanks to Lyn Dugay for his assistance with the School Sailing program. The various school groups were instructed by myself, Marg Douglas and Will Palmer assisted by Lyn and new member Fiona Uren. Without these members the program cannot run.
- A highly successful Tasar Victorian Championship (38 boats) was held over the Long Weekend, resulting in considerable income for the club. A huge effort by, Andrew H and his on-water team, Heather and Adrienne providing the catering with support from some Club members, led to a highly successful regatta. The Association and competitors were full of praise for the work done by the club and its members to make the Championship run efficiently and smoothly. We have started to rebuild a skilled set of people to run such an event.
- Andrew H to be congratulated on his work before and during the championships.
- A number of our sailors have competed in various State Championships, during the past month. Sabres at Somers, Optis at Sorrento, Hobies at Safety Beach and F16 and Viper at Port Melbourne; with some very good results.
- Friday night drinks has seen several of our new members attending.
- A Smart meter has been installed. We need to check whether the Club continues to receive a Concession for off peak hot water.
