The NSW Viper state titles were held last weekend in conjunction with the A Class and Taipan States at Tanilba Bay YC
Saturday morning brought sunshine but no wind and the race committee decided to postpone the start of racing till the breeze filled in.
Race 1 was started as the North East breeze started to push through. NSW Sailor Dan Van Kerckhof claimed first, narrowly in front of Pip and James with fellow Victorians Mark and Alisanne in 3rd. With the breeze building race 2 was sailed in a steady 12 kts. Racing was tight in the 2nd race with Dan Van Kerckhof once again claiming a win, with Adam and Krystal in 2nd with Pip and James taking 3rd. 2 more races were held that day in 15-18kts. Dan Van Kerckhof was having a great day, finishing with 4 bullets. Pip and James and Adam and Krystal ended the day on 11 points each to sit equal 2nd.
Unfortunately on Sunday morning there was a 25kt+ southerly pushing through which wiped out any chance of getting any more racing in for the regatta.
