Tackers, Sailing School, Social Events and Discover Sailing Days have kept the club busy
Another very busy week at the club last week. 2 Tackers courses running 5 days morning and afternoon and 3 days of Sailing School saw another 40 sailors improving their skills and enjoying our facilities. The Thursday night BB was again well attended with around 60 meals served as students, their families, instructors and other club members got to know each other.
Friday night we had John Kent's Rhythm Kings playing at the club and while the attendance was down on previous years those who attended enjoyed the faulous catering of Heather Crabtree, Adrienne Dugay and Jenny Jones and had a great night.
Saturday and Sunday morning we promoted as Discover Sailing days and Sunday morning was also an Introduction to Tackers day. The Discover Sailing days saw nearly 70 members of the public taking the opportunity for a sail in an Optimist, Pacer or Hobie Cat It was gratifying to see the appreciation in the faces of our guests and has already resulted in some new member applications and sowed the seed of sailing at Balnarring as a regular pastime in the minds of many. The Intro to Tackers day saw about 15 recent Tackers participants return to the club to hire a boat for the morning and consolidate their recently learned skills.
