We need your help this Thursday and Saturday to help make our beach safe for the busy Christmas period.
We urgently need to restore sight-lines from the Club House to the water's edge and around the tractor ramps. Following months of lobbying the Foreshore Committee has agreed that we should significantly reduce the vegetation immediately in front of the club in order to reduce the risk of members, guests and the general public getting into difficulty on our beach and not being seen.
A number of members have started this work last week and it is already making a huge difference. It is hard work though so we have hired all the necessary equipment for this Thursday (December 27) and Saturday (December 29). We need as many helpers as we can get to maximise use of this equipment and help with cutting, dragging away the cut vegetation and keeping the workers well fed and watered. There are also a couple of urgent maintenance jobs at the club house we would also like to get done on the day.
No need to register, just turn up any time after 9 on Thursday and/or Saturday and Roger Crabtree or one of his posse will assign you a suitable task. For those holidaying at Balnarring this time of year who didn't make our pre-season working bees, this is a great opportunity to do your bit to contribute to the upkeep of your club and help make our beach safer.
