First race in this series to find the club champion - fine day and light winds forecast
On Opening Day, Roger Crabtree unveiled a magnificent trophy, recently rediscovered after a very long absence, dating back to the earliest sailing seasons at the club. This trophy will now be awarded to the winner of the Commodore’s Cup – a series of 6 races scheduled on the first Sunday of each month. The Commodore’s Cup will be notable this season as the races will be designed so all boats will be competing against each other on yardstick over a longer than usual course. This will be a great opportunity to see who has their boat going the fastest at the moment – will it be Michelle Bursa, Alexander Jurovic, Chris Myers or maybe Vincent Cross (back from China this week) or James Fleming might come out on top.
Race 1 is this Sunday at 1.30. The forecast again looks promising - 24◦ and light winds with a sea-breeze.
