NNZ Weekly Update 30 October 2015

MESSAGE FROM NETBALL NEW ZEALAND CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Greetings everyone,

What a massive trans-Tasman sporting weekend with the Silver Ferns v Australian Diamonds tonight (11.30pm SKY Sport 4), and the incredible 2015 Rugby World Cup Final in the early hours of Sunday morning, along with the onset of the Black Caps Test Series v Australia beginning next week on Thursday at The Gabba, Brisbane.

The intense trans-Tasman rivalry that is such a feature of NZ sport continues – Australia have already taken the honours in the Cricket and Netball World Cups, so now it’s up to the All Blacks to bring the trophy home! We wish them the very best of luck with their Rugby World Cup Final… GO THE ALL BLACKS!!

I woke up early in Perth this morning (being 5 hours behind NZ), having flown across late yesterday, for the privilege of supporting the Silver Ferns for their final Constellation Cup match v Australia.  The team are looking forward to playing in-front of a sold-out (15,500 capacity) Perth Arena this evening. No doubt there will be some SilverFans in the crowd cheering them on!

It will also be extremely special and memorable to be here with Waimarama Taumaunu for her final international Test Match as Head coach of the Silver Ferns.

Also a reminder – don’t forget to vote for your SKY Sport Moment of the Year and Woman’s Day People’s Choice. PLUS, while you’re at it why not join the team and become a Silver Fan! Click here to vast your vote.

I hope you enjoy what will be a wonderful weekend of sport.

Kind regards,
Hilary
