All pistol events are mixed with the exception of the 25m Centre Fire Men, 10m Air Pistol Women, 10m Air Pistol Men and 25m Sport Pistol (Women). Highest score in each age group wins. Placings will be 1st / 2nd / 3rd. International rules of deciding winners on tied scores will be adhered to. All competitors will be squadded for events. Squadding details will be available at the Games Centre after accreditation.
Competition Standards
The pistol competition at the Games will be conducted under the auspices, rules and regulations of International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) and will conform to any special requirements of the International Masters Games Association (IMGA).
The Victorian Amateur Pistol Association will conduct the competition.
Practice Facilities
The venue will be open Friday 4 October through Sunday 6 October 2002 for inspection and practice. All ranges will be open and targets available.
Ammunition
Purchase of factory ammunition (.22) will be available.
Security for Equipment
An armoury will be available and firearms may be checked in and stored at the Club during the Games.
Guns must be cleared on the range after shooting and will then be placed into a gun bag and carried off the range. Competitors will not be permitted to leave the range with a gun in hand/holster loaded or unloaded. There are no hot ranges. Firearms are not to be taken into the clubhouse.
Other Information
Special Requirements
Interstate shooters are not required to obtain any type of Victorian permit. Australian shooters simply need to ensure their firearm is registered and their licence is current.
International Shooters are required to obtain:
- An International Visitor Firearm Permit,
- A Customs Import Permit, and
- A Customs OR Department of Defence, Export Permit.
The necessary application forms and information will be forwarded to competitors, or can be obtained from the Games office.
Mobile phones, pagers must be turned off on the ranges.
