Venue Information
The hockey competition will be conducted at the State Netball Hockey Centre situated in Royal Park, Parkville. The venue is a new state of the art, international facility a ten-minute drive from the city. The centre has two water based hockey pitches and a covered grandstand for 1,000 spectators.
Royal Park is a large open parkland, and includes the Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens, an Australian native plant garden, a nine-hole golf course and other recreational facilities and sporting grounds.
How to get there
Melbourne's new State Netball Hockey Centre is located in Royal Park. The park is three kilometres from the city centre in the leafy suburb of Parkville. The State Netball Hockey Centre is accessible by local trams that run from the centre of Melbourne. The number 55 tram runs through the park from William Street in the city.
