Rules and Regulations
Competition Standards
The hockey competition at the Games will be conducted under the auspices, rules and regulations of the International Hockey Federation. Competition will conform to any special requirements of the International Masters Games Association (IMGA).
* Duration of matches will be 2 x 25 minute halves.
* For all age groups, teams play each other once. Some age groups will play more than one game per day on some days.
* 7,8 & 9 team age groups will play finals 1v2 for Gold/Silver and 3v4 for Bronze. 6 team age groups will play semis and finals.
* Unless serious injury occurs, there will be no time out.
* No time is allocated for teams to warm up on the pitch.
* No warm down time will be allowed at the completion of a match. Players are asked to vacate the bench area quickly and leave it clean.
* Interchange will be from the centre line. The ongoing player will hold the number of the player coming off the pitch.
* Captains are required to wear a distinctive colour band supplied by their own team.
* Team managers must remain pitch side for the duration of their teams match.
* There will be no time allowed at half time or the end of the game for penalty corners.
* Drawn finals will result in an allotment of 5 penalty strokes per team and in the event of the score still being tied, there shall be sudden death strokes as per FIH Rule Appendix F.
Tribunal and Dispute Resolution
* In the case of an appeal, the team manager must signify they are lodging an appeal at the time of signing the team sheet (at the completion of the match) and then lodge their grounds for appeal.
