Venue Information
Wellsford Rifle Range is located at Pratts Park Road, Bendigo East, 150km from the Melbourne city centre and is accessible by public transport and car.
The range has produced a reputation for producing extremely challenging climatic conditions. It is currently undergoing a major redevelopment in readiness for the Melbourne 2002 World Masters Games and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
The project will cost in excess of $1 million and will include a multi functional building. This site will increase its target facility and will provide a range of 1000 yards.
How to get there
From Melbourne, take the Tullamarine Freeway section of CityLink from Melbourne (CityLink is a toll way and you will need to organise a day pass with your rental car company). Follow the Tullamarine Freeway until you reach the Calder Interchange and take the right hand lanes to the Calder Freeway (not towards the airport). The Calder Freeway will take you all the way to Bendigo.
From Melbourne Airport, take the Western Ring Road back towards Melbourne and look for the Calder Freeway exit to the left. The Calder Freeway will take you all the way to Bendigo. You do not need to pay any tolls for this road.
Public Transport
A regular Melbourne to Bendigo V/Line (country) train service departs from Spencer Street in the city and takes about 2 hours.
