Preliminary Finals

The Premier Men looks like being a top match and hopefully for Buderim’s and the spectators’ sakes it is a bit closer than the last encounter two weeks ago. Woombye completely dominated that match and Craig Hawkins was outstanding. It is interesting to note that he was away last week and Woombye struggled in the middle of the park against Maroochydore. Buderim turned their game around big time last week and blew Caboolture off the park. Jordan Burgess with a hat trick will come into this match full of confidence and if he can repeat his performance, he will take the pressure off play maker Jeremy Stewart.

Both teams looked evenly matched and it will go down to which team can hold its shape at the back and take the chances created. One thing is for sure, both teams are capable of creating plenty of chances. Woombye may just be a little more confident on the match two weeks ago and it will depend if Buderim have erased the game from their memory.

Reserves- Buderim face NYU and should go one further to reach the grand final. They had only lost one match before last week and in going down 1 nil to arch-rival Maroochydore will need to take the chances created. Last week with ten men for more than half the match, they still went close and missed three chances in three consecutive shots. NYU will be out for a final berth and probably have the will to win this one.

3rds- Buderim are again in the firing line after losing a close one to Maroochydore last week. They play Coolum who will be on their home ground and therefore will have nothing to lose. Buderim look to have a quality side and this one will also go down to the wire.

4ths- Coolum need to bounce back in this one after just being pipped by Cooroora last week. They play defending Champions Caloundra and will find the visitors very hard to hold out. Caloundra have a very speedy front line and will be looking to get a crack at another Grand-final.

Footnote:- It is interesting to have a look at how the different coaches handle the final series. Have a good look at the benches this week and next. Some good entertainment coming from some!!!!!!!!!
