A stunning second half hat-trick from Reuben Way has seen Olympic FC run out 4-0 winners against Northern Fury in Townsville on Sunday.

The teams were level at the break before Terry Hughes opened the visitor's account early in the second half and Way sealed the points with three goals in a devastating nine minute spell.

Early chances fell to both teams with Olympic striking the crossbar six minutes into the contest.

Jake Perry forced Olympic goalkeeper Brandon Cuminao into a sharp save from a header just after the half hour, while Braedyn Crowley shot wide of the target just prior to the break.

Two minutes after the restart Hughes scorched past Fury’s Chris Figg courtesy of Way’s nod-on, delivering an assured finish to edge Olympic ahead.

Way netted his first just after the hour amidst a goal mouth scramble, squeezing his shot through a sea of legs after Fury keeper Matthew Symes made a previous save.

Way slipped in behind the Fury back line for his second courtesy of a defence splitting pass, calmly checking back on to his favoured left foot to effectively seal the points.

Way then iced his performance when he ran on to a chipped pass from Olympic substitute Mustafa Jafari, completing his hat-trick with a right-footed finish.

The win lifts Olympic to 21 points in a three way tie with Moreton Bay United and Brisbane Roar NYL, while Fury drop to eleventh with a third straight defeat.
