A four goal first-half rampage has guided Brisbane Strikers to a 4-2 win over Moreton Bay United at Perry Park on Sunday.

Jackson Hall scored in the opening minute to start the onslaught, with Greg King, Matt Thurtell and Dan Partridge adding to the first half haul.

Jets pulled two goals back in the second half through Jake Harvey and Chales Mendy.

Playing their third game in seven days, Strikers shrugged off concerns of fatigue when Hall pounced on a rebound from Thurtell’s opening minute strike to open the host’s account.

Strikers skipper Greg King doubled the advantage on 24 minutes when he side-footed Thurtell’s cross past Jets goalkeeper Mario Aparicio from close range

Ten minutes later, Thurtell turned in a pass from fullback Scot Coulson to continue his recent goal-scoring form.

Coulson was also the provider for midfielder Dan Partridge to score in a crowded goalmouth for four minutes later to give the hosts are near unassailable four goal margin at the break.

The second half proved hard fought and lacked fluidity for extended periods, with Strikers centre halves Jason Shade and David Salin repelling league leading goal scorer Royce Brownlie.

Jets scored twice in the closing stages to add respectability to the scoreline - substitute Jake Harvey netting against his former club on 86 minutes before Mendy added another from the penalty spot two minutes later.

The result lifts Strikers to fifth on the NPL Queensland table. Jets hold on to second place on goal difference but are level on points with Olympic FC and Brisbane Roar NYL.

Brisbane Strikers 4 (Jackson HALL 1’, Greg KING 24’, Matt THURTELL 34’, Dan PARTRIDGE 38’)
Moreton Bay United 2 (Jake HARVEY 86’, Charles MENDY 88’)
