Supporters XI Nominees – CQFC Energy

Central Queensland FC Energy did it tough this year and were on the end of some unflattering score lines as the young squad found their feet at a higher level.

As the season progressed, the performances and results improved – resulting in three CQFC players being nominated to the Supporters XI.

Kevin Fraser (Right Midfield)

Joining the squad late in the season, Kevin Fraser made an immediate impact in the Energy midfield as the club fought valiantly to avoid the wooden spoon. A truly versatile midfielder who can play anywhere across the middle of the park, Fraser netted twice in his four appearances for the Energy.

CQFC head coach Ray Wood described the 17 year old, who originally hails from Inverness in Scotland, as an “exceptional talent” and expected big things from him next year. “He is my tip to be player of the season next year in the NPL,” Wood enthused.

Braedyn Crowley (Central Midfield)

Another mid-season recruit, Braedyn Crowley scored four goals in a difficult first year for the Rockhampton club. While not as imposing at first glance as older midfielders in the league, Crowley boasts exceptional strength when on the ball and a sharp turn of pace off it.

Crowley was nominated by his CQFC coach Ray Wood, who said described him as one of the most talented youngsters he has seen in the league. “He has a huge future ahead and, if he continues, he will play A League one hundred per cent.”

Jordan Miller (Right Wing)

Speedy winger Jordan Miller earns his nomination to the Supporters XI following an educational year in the Energy attacking third. Blessed with pin-point crossing skills, Miller had to adapt his game when pint-sized striker Chris Geddes fronted the Energy formation, eventually finishing with six goals from the campaign to be the club’s third leading goal scorer.

Another home town nomination from CQFC Energy coach Ray Wood, he described Miller as another talent that will blossom in the National Premier Leagues and beyond. “He is one of the quickest players in the league but also is technically one of the best players. He has a big future ahead,” Wood said.
