VIDEO: Strikers Defeat City in Brisbane Derby

In the late kick-off at Spencer Park in the double header, Brisbane Strikers conceded twice early and were reduced to ten men in the second half before securing an improbable 5-3 win over hosts Brisbane City.

City sprinted to an early lead courtesy of goals to Antonio Murray and Martin Riggs, however Strikers pulled one back before half-time via Greg King.

An early second half surge saw Ryan Cokell restore parity, before Nick Robinson gave Strikers the lead for the first time.

With fifteen minutes remaining, Eric Frazier earned and converted a penalty to level scores again, the Strikers reduced to ten men as Corey Hooper was shown a straight red as the last defender.

Strikers then mounted an unlikely fightback, regaining the lead via Chay Hews with ten minutes to play, before Matt Thurtell sealed the result in injury time.
