CQ Premier League Round 12 Preview

All teams had a break over the long weekend, so everybody should be raring to go this round. The matches this Saturday, 15 June, basically sees the top half of the table playing against each other, the bottom half doing likewise.

Clinton v Nerimbera - Cinton Sports Ground at 7.00pm. Looks like the match of the round. Both teams had good last start wins and they know momentum is the key over the next 6 to 8 weeks. The added spice is that the teams will be meeting each other again in early July, due to the wash out at the start of the season, so any advantage from this match will be a bonus. Clinton to win because they are at home.

Frenchville v Bluebirds - Ryan Park at 7.00pm. This is a crunch match for Bluebirds. They have lost their early form and are in danger of slipping out of the top four. If they can sneak a win here, they can still be considered as contenders. Frenchville just need to continue doing what they have been doing. Their greatest threat at the moment is complacency. Frenchville by a couple.

CQFC Energy v Emerald Eagles - (now at Jardine Park at 4.00pm). The Energy are now two wins out of the top four so they need to turn their season around, starting this Saturday. Overall, Emerald have struggled on the road, but if they can pick up the odd win in their last four away matches, they might make the four. The points to be shared in this one.

Central v Southside - Sun Valley at 7.00pm. Central are traveling along nicely, After a traditionally slow start, they are building momentum and are a legitimate top four contender. Emerald seem to be Southside's bogey team, rolling them twice this season, including the last round. This stopped the progress Southside had made over the previous weeks. Southside will need to bounce back and will be hoping for a similar result against Central as in Round 3, but Central to get up at home.

Capricorn Coast v Berserker - Apex Park at 7.00pm. The battle for the wooden spoon. Unless both teams show significant improvement over the next six rounds, one of them will be crowned with this not so coveted prize. Cap Coast by a couple.
