RULES OF COMPETITION
FITA Indoor
* The Indoor round consists of 60 arrows shot at a 40cm face at a distance of 18m.
* 3 arrows will be shot per end. 2 minutes is allocated per end.
* Archers were given the choice of a single face or a 3-spot face.
* Double scoring will apply.
* Shooting will be controlled by the Director Of Shooting (DOS).
* The DOS will give a 20 second warning prior to shooting commencing.
* At the commencement of each end, 2 blasts will signal for Archers to occupy the shooting line.
* 20 seconds following this signal 1 blast will sound advising archers to commence shooting.
* The signal to cease shooting will be 3 blasts.
* Multiple blasts indicate danger and shooting should cease immediately.
* Compound archers must use the ¡§Inner 10¡¨ and their 10 zone. Remaining Archers are to use the standard 10 ring.
The Indoor event is registered with FITA.
Target Archery
* The Target Archery round requires archers to shoot 144 arrows over 4 distances. 36 arrows are shot at each distance. Depending on bow type and age group, the longest distance can be 90m or 60m. The shortest range is 30m.
* The 2 longer distances will be shot on Day 1 using 122cm faces. 6 arrows will be shot at each end over 4 minutes.
* The 2 shorter distances will be shot on Day 2 on 80cm faces. 3 arrow will be shot at each end over 2 minutes.
* Shooting will be controlled by the Director Of Shooting.
* The DOS will give a 20 second warning prior to shooting commencing.
* At the commencement of each end, 2 blasts will signal for archers to occupy the shooting line.
* 20 seconds following this signal 1 blast will sound advising archers to commence shooting.
* The signal to cease shooting will be 3 blasts.
* Multiple blasts indicate danger and shooting should cease immediately.
* If an arrow touches a scoring line, the higher score value will be given. If there is any doubt, Archers are to contact a judge.
* Double scoring is in effect.
* Should an arrow be located in the inner 10 zone, the value of the arrow is 10 and ¡¥X¡¦ will be written on the score card.
* Archers are to straddle the shooting line.
The event is registered with FITA as a FITA Star event.
FITA Field
* The FITA Field round consists of 24 marked targets with 3 arrows shot at each target.
* Each distance will be marked on the pegs.
* All Barebow (including Longbow) Archers will shoot from the blue pegs. The rest will shoot from the red pegs.
* All competitors shall stand behind an imaginary line from the shooting peg and parallel to the target butt.
* Archers will be numbered within each group ¡V A, B, C & D prefixed with the target number (ie 1A, 1B, etc). On the first target shot, Archers A & B will shoot first, and then Archers C & D.
On the next target, Archers C & D will shoot first, then Archers A & B, alternating as you go.
* Archers have 4 minutes to shoot the 3 arrows.
Target distances are as follows:
Red Peg:
6 targets: 80cm face
- 2 @ 60m, 2 @ 55m and 2 @ 50m
6 targets: 60cm face
- 2 @ 45m, 2 @ 40m and 2 @ 35m
6 targets: 40cm face (4spot)
- 2 @ 30m, 2 @ 25m and 2 @ 20m
6 targets: 20cm face (bugseyes)
- 2 @ 20m, 2 @ 15m and 2 @ 10m
Blue Peg:
6 targets: 80cm face
- 2 @ 50m, 2 @ 45m and 2 @ 40m
6 targets: 60cm face
- 2 @ 40m, 2 @ 35m and 2 @ 30m
6 targets: 40cm face (4spot)
- 2 @ 25m, 2 @ 20m and 2 @ 15m
6 targets: 20cm face (bugseyes)
- 2 @ 15m, 2 @ 10m and 2 @ 5m
4 spot - How they are shot:
* There are 4 target faces on the butt. Each Archer is assigned their own target face, where all their arrows are shot into the one face.
* The 1st pair of Archers shoot on the top 2 target faces and the 2nd pair of Archers shooting on the top 2 bottom faces. Archer A (or Archer C) shooting on the left face. Archer B (or Archer D) shooting the right hand face
Bugseyes - How they are shot:
* The target butt is made up of 12 target faces arranged in 4 columns, with 3 target faces in each column. Each Archer is allocated 1 column.
* The pair of Archers shooting first will shoot on columns 1 & 3. The Archer on the left will shoot on column 1 and the Archer on the right on column 3.
* The 2nd pair of Archers will shoot on columns 2 & 4. The Archer on the left will shoot on column 2 and the Archer on the right on column 4.
* The faces may be shot in any order (ie if you wish to shoot the top face first, or the middle face first, you may).
* Arrow banding is not required.
The field event is registered with FITA as a FITA Star event.
IFAA Field
* The Field event shall consist of 28 targets, with four arrows to be shot per target.
* The shooting will commence with a whistle blast, if you hear three blasts stop and wait for instructions.
* The distances shall be marked on the peg; the ranges will be double pegged.
* Archers shall shoot their first 14 targets from one set of pegs and the second 14 targets from the other set of pegs.
* All Archers shall shoot from the white pegs; there will be no other pegs on the course.
* Archers will shoot two up where possible, there is no set shoot order, the group shall decide the shoot order (usually order set on score board).
* When there are 2 targets on the butt(15y ,20y ,25y & 30y) Archers shooting from the left peg shoot the left target, and Archers shooting from the right shoot the right target
* Bugseyes (35ft, 30ft, 25ft & 20ft) shall be shot: top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right. There will be 2 sets of bugseyes, one set shot from the left, one set from the right.
* Archers may draw arrows to prevent damage at close ranges.
APPEALS PROCEDURES
All appeals, including a AUD$50 lodgement fee, must be submitted to the Chairman of Judges prior to the commencement of the medal presentation. Once lodged, the Jury of Appeal will convene to discuss the appeal and call in whatever witnesses the jury deem necessary.
Once the Jury of Appeal has deliberated, it will announce its findings. The Jury of Appeals decision is final.
