How many rounds are played?
Target Events : The competition will consist of one round shot over two days and archers must shoot south (+ or -) 10 degrees as stipulated by FITA.
Target events will be shot under FITA rules. There will be separate sections for each age group and bow types as set out on the Fact Sheet.
Indoor Events : Archers are required to shoot at 18m with 4 Archers per target. They are required to shoot 60 arrows, which takes approximately 2 hours.

The Indoor event will be shot under FITA rules.
Field Event : The competition will be shot over two days. The Field will consist of a marked FITA Field and a IFAA Field.
All age groups.
FITA Field 24 targets in 1 day (3 arrows per target)
IFAA Field 28 targets in 1 day (4 arrows per target)
The Field event will be shot under the respective rules.
In addition, the archers will be split into 2 groups and whilst 1 group is shooting FITA Field, the other group shooting IFAA Field (and reverse the next day). Also, on target, the 2 groups Group 1 shooting morning on Day 1 and afternoon on Day 2, and Group 2 will shoot afternoon on Day 1 and morning on Day 2.

What are the various distances for age groups?

Can a withdrawal be made from an Archery event? If yes, how is this done?
Yes, a withdrawal can be made from an Archery event. It has to be done in writing by sending a letter or email to the Melbourne 2002 World Masters Games office prior to the commencement of the Games, however if the withdrawal is made during the Games, the person in charge of the Archery venue needs to be notified accordingly.
Once a withdrawal has been made from an Archery event, the Games fees are not affected in any way.
If a withdrawal from the entire games is made, again, a letter or email must be sent to the Games Office advising of this. A $AUD50 / $US$50 administration fee applies and will be deducted from the refund.
What are the dress codes for Archery?
Normally the dress code is all whites, National uniform or club uniform.
Where can I obtain details of the draws/rounds for the Archery competitions?
The draws will be posted in mid-September.
How do I travel to the Opening Ceremony at the MCG from Werribee?
A train can be boarded from Werribee Train Station which is located on Comben Drive, Werribee. This service runs to to Flinders Street Station. Then from Flinders Street Station, you can choose to walk to the MCG which would take approximately 30 minutes or take a tram from the corner of Flinders and Swanston Streets and embark opposite the Hilton Hotel on the corner of Wellington Parade and Clarendon Street. The MCG is within walking distance which would take under 5 minutes.
