NSBA players at Australian U16 Junior Championships

The players representing NSBA are Charlotte Gorman, Ella O’Halloran and Lauryn Walker in the NSW women’s team and Benjamin Fakira, Oliver Jacquot and Harry Lidbetter in the NSW men’s team.

Charlotte finished the championship with an outstanding average of 11.62 points per game and 4.62 rebounds and as a bottom age player she has every chance of returning next year and history shows her averages increases each championship.

Lauryn’s best game was against Northern Territory on the first day of the championship, scoring 14 points to go along with 7 rebounds and Ella’s best performance was against the local Tasmanian team with 7 points, 2 assists and 1 of the game’s 4 blocks.

At 203cm it is easy to see why 15-year-old Benjamin has been selected for the U17 Australian selection camp after displaying dominant and consistent performances throughout the Championships with 9.33 rebounds per game and 8.33 points per game.

Oliver and Harry both shot well in NSW’s final game against WA Country, Oliver scoring 10 points and Harry 13 to lead the NSW team to a 30 point win.

NSBA are very proud of these young, up and coming stars and we wish them all the best for their future and best of luck to Benjamin at the camp for selection to the Australian squad to compete at the FIBA Oceania U17 Championships in New Zealand in August.
