NSBA Draft Constitution

The NSBA Board has drafted a new constitution for the organisation, with the intention of it being adopted at the AGM, which will be held in June.

You can find a copy of the draft constitution here and we would welcome any comments or questions that you have. The Board will finalise the draft document in late April, so please have any comments or questions sent to NSBA CEO Michael Haynes by 18th April.

The draft constitution is based upon the Model Rules for incorporated associations. Some important changes in the constitution are:

  • Giving the Board the power to appoint up to two people to the Board (the remaining five board members are elected);
  • Removing the General Manager/CEO from being a board member. The CEO is appointed by the Board and reports to them;
  • Enabling the Board to create non-voting categories of membership (e.g. for people who coach teams but do not play).

For all enquiries relating to the draft constitution, please contact Michael Haynes on 9906 7877.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
