NSBA to Host NBL Pre-Season Blitz

The Northern Suburbs Basketball Association will play a key role in bringing top flight basketball to the North Shore next month when the North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre plays host to the National Basketball League Pre-Season Blitz.

The NBL Blitz will be held at the NSISC September 20-22 and will feature all eight clubs in what is set to be three days of high quality professional basketball.

In confirming the partnership with the NBL to host the 2013 Blitz, NSBA Chief Executive Michael Haynes said the NSISC was an ideal venue for the tournament.

"We are certainly excited to be hosting the 2013 NBL Blitz and feel the NSISC is a great venue for the teams and spectators," he said.

"The Blitz is one of the premier tournaments on the Australian basketball calendar and to have all eight NBL clubs here at Norths as they prepare for the 2013/2014 season will be a great weekend of basketball."

"We are excited to be working closely with the NBL to bring this level of basketball to the area and our members," he added.

Tickets for the 2013/2014 National League Blitz will go on sale Monday, August 26 and can be purchased by following this link.

The announcement of the Blitz comes on the back of the Sydney Kings commencing their preparations for the 2013/2014 NBL season, making use of the facilities at the NSISC as their preferred training base.

Under the watchful eye of coach & Australian basketball legend Shane Heal, the Kings commenced their formal Pre-season training in the last fortnight and will welcome their import players this week
