A tough contest with perhaps the hardest tackling side in the competition being Montrose. Tigers kicked away in the first quarter and played the conditions well. James W was brilliant in the ruck along with Chopper, Josh and Daniel up forward. The back line was as consistent as it has been all year to restrict Montrose to only 3 points for the game. Every player in the backline should be commended for this. Jett in the second half was fantastic making sure his presence in the ruck was felt by the Montrose ruck. Perhaps our best game for the year. This week will be a challenge and we hope to see as many Tigers supporters as possible at Lewis Park on Sunday at 12.40pm. Well done to all the other Tiger teams that played on Sunday and good luck to the under 14 girls this week in their finals. Yellow & Black!
Under 12B Mitcham 3 - 4 (22) defeated Waverley Blues 3-3 (21)
In the muudiest conditions since 1989, the boys played in their first ever final against Waverley Blues. 3 v 4, 1 win each head to head during the season, it was going to be a close game. We started well and our effort at the contest gave us the advantage early. Our captain was terrific all game and his example was followed by the whole team. We where the better team for the day, however poor conversion with the wind left the door open for Waverley to come home in the last. We held them off with some desperate play to win an epic contest. Great effort and well deserved.

Under 13A Mitcham 4-6 (30) defeated Knox 0-2 (2)
Not the best conditions greeted the boys at Scoresby. The weather over the weekend was not too kind to either side, but at least we didn't play in snow like the Riddell / Macedon League. Our boys did what was required to win and move on to the next game without any injuries. The boys are looking forward to playing Lysterfield next, it should be a terrific contest. Good luck to the girls who kick off their finals this weekend and to rest of the MJFC teams.
