Mitcham under 8 Black
Teams: Mitcham Black V Mitcham Yellow
Summary A great game today against our colleagues Mitcham Yellow. Our captain today was Liam O ‘Dwyer who led from the front and also won the player of the week award. Our medallist was Flynn Hardy who showed great encouragement to his teammates. Well done Flynn. We gave out a second milkshake today to Thomas (the Terminator) Coulson who was terrific in defence with several desperate goal saving efforts and plenty of run out of defence. Ben (the Aviator) D'Costa kick a nice goal and continued to be our main target all over the ground. Ethan (Captain Courageous) Reed kicked 2 great goals and was in everything today. Jake (the Extractor) McConnell was brave and took 3 great marks within 5 minutes. Jake also kicked a nice goal. Daniel (the Dominator) Sagwan was classy as always and kicked 2 great goals. Chloe (the Pressure Queen) Linnett was in the opposition’s faces as always with some great pressure and encouragement. Archer Howard played well again today with some nice marks and ruck work. Max (the Machine) Lazarus ran his guts out today and took several great marks. Max was exhausted after the game. Camden (the Bull) Walters was terrific again today. Cam worked hard, manned up well and kicked a lovely goal. Austin Loring went in hard today and was constantly on the bottom of the pack. A great effort today by the Blacks against the much improved Yellows

Mitcham under 8 Yellow
Teams: Mitcham Yellow V Mitcham Black
Summary: After being completely outplayed in Derby 1, the Yellows were keen to show the football public (Mums and Dads of Mitcham U8s at least) how far they had come since the early season. The Blacks goaled within seconds of the opening, creating thoughts of another lopsided game. Led by the Captain of the day, Andy, the yellows settled and had some good team play, with chains of possessions down the ground including Tate and Jake linking up and numerous strong runs from Andy, Zack and Riley. The Lavelle boys (Cooper and Oscar) were defending well, with Oscar often competing well against much bigger and older opponents. Jono was getting in under the packs and had also collected kicks, as did Aston and Seth. Jarrod had a solid game and continued to defend and use his voice well, with Lachlan trying hard around the packs. The boys were determined to score whenever they had the opportunity, with a flurry of goals scored in the 2nd half (Andy, Zack and Riley,) as the team continued to work hard with the ball and when defending. As the game wore on, the Yellows kept making runs and the endeavour of the team all day was excellent. Max and Seth showed the spirit of the team after they both returned to the field soon after copping knocks, with Seth booting a huge goal soon after. Jake continued his great form of the last few weeks and looks a different player to the start of the season. A great game from both Mitcham teams and we look forward to the remaining games. Best Players Andy I, Zack, Max Murphy, Jake, Tate, Oscar Lavelle

Teams: Mitcham V East Ringwood
Summary:It was a beautiful winter’s morning and our first time playing on a full ground with (soft) tackling. Oscar and Jake lead the boys out with excitement in the air. Max and Camden were up from the U8 and were in the thick of it, while Jack and Zac M linked up with some great teamwork and shots on goal. Zac C continued his improved form and embraced the tackling while Archer and Heath had their dads up and about with some hardball gets and great grabs. Cody’s quick hands and Iggy’s dash opened up the play. The boy’s effort was fantastic and our last quarter was our most effective, running it out to the final whistle.
Go Tigers!
Best Players, Jack, Zac C, Zac M, Camden

Mitcham under 9 Yellow
Teams: Mitcham Yellow V Lysterfield
Summary:Today the Mitcham U9 Yellow team had a hard fought game against a very good side from The Lysterfield. The conditions were cold and the ground was wet and soggy. The ball was slippery however our boys persisted and adapted to the conditions. Our boys played courageously and kicked some early goals. We got the ball out of the centre with Haydn Maaskant winning the ruck taps and Billy Love clearing it many times out of the centre. Cooper Doherty showed true Tiger spirit, wining the ball at ground level a number of times and a couple of nice goals. Thomas Linnett dominated all over the ground and Darcy Poynter had some times runs. Blake Calder defended fantastic and was also dangerous around goals. A special mention to Lachie Gnatt and Fletcher Webb for being awarded the medals and to Blake Calder and Cooper Doherty for winning the Two Brothers awards.
Best Players: Thomas Linnett, Billy Love, Cooper Doherty, Blake Calder, Haydn Maaskant, Lachie Gnatt, Fletcher Webb

Summary In a huge day for the boys with 5 players celebrating their 50th games for the club, they all got an opportunity to run through the banner. Some great teamwork, but for some reason we just could not kick goals in the first half. This turned around after half time with the boys sharing well and running away with a great win. Congratulations to Danial Grace, Ryan McConnell, James Watt, Charlie Wilson and Gus Atherton all for playing their 50th games. A special thank you to Billy Creelman for coming over from the black team to help us out. We have another big game on Sunday v North Ringwood who knocked us off last time.

Blackburn 11.4-70 V Mitcham Yellow 3.2-20
Summary:Believe it or not, our boys played some really good football today. We were right in the match until the last quarter and dominated periods of the game with great attack on the ball and the opposition. Another lapse in concentration and the scoreboard blew out in the last as Blackburn piled on 5 goals to nothing to run away with a big win. Again, our good footy is right up there with the best in the comp, but we pay a big price when we don't have everyone pulling in the same direction.
Best Players: Mason Porter, Patrik Nemsow, LeBron Gencarelli, Ty Crupi, James Wilson, Heath Fox
Goals: Angus Butler, James Wilson, Charlie Wilson
Mitcham under 12 Girls
Teams: Mitcham 1.0-6 V Rowville 2.4-16
Summary: The girls played Rowville Hawks this weekend and unfortunately we went away with a loss. It has been a tough few weeks for our girls but they have kept fighting and putting the effort in every week. Hayley and Jess had great games, taking marks both in the backline and forward line, as well as laying some great tackles. Our youngest player in the team held her own and attacked the footy all day and even got a shot on goal, well done Erin. Alessia, Taya and Lauren fought for the footy all day but unfortunately it didn't go our way, but congrats to Alessia for kicking our only goal for the day, and our only goal for the past few weeks. It has been a tough few weeks but the girls have been putting in their all and hopefully we have more competitive games in the future.
Best Players: Hayley, Lauren, Alessia, Erin, Jessica
Goals: Alessia

Mitcham 11.7-73 V Lysterfield 3.3-21
Summary:The sun greeted the boys at Koonung Reserve. We were matched up against a very big and talented Lysterfield Team. From the first bounce (via Aiden) our mids controlled the contested ball which resulted in our outside runners getting their hands on it very early, 2 quick goals came from the early hard running. By the third quarter our effort across the whole game was terrific. Although we will need to work on our effort in the last quarter as it wasn't great this week. Thanks to the U11's who helped us out, greatly appreciated.
Best Players: Aiden, Noah, Peter, Lachlan, Hudson, Hamish, Ryan M, Cooper

Teams: Mitcham 66 V Ferntree Gully Eagles
Summary One of the most pleasing things to experience as a coach is a group of young men collectively give everything they have to benefit the team & not themselves or individual goals. Today was one of those days. With finals approaching, this was just what we needed.
Best Players: Felix, Sam, Stephen, James F
Mitcham under 14 Girls
Teams: Mitcham 11.10-76 V Norwood 0.1-1
Summary: Another home game and the girls were up and ready to go. With a new Coach at the helm for the day - Mr Ongaro - the girls were excited and the coach Phil, had nerves. The girls came out to play strong fast footy - hard at times but with team work the key. With rotations all over the ground - forwards went back and the backs went forward - the on ballers ran and dominated all game with a number of players going through the middle which was very pleasing. Highlights - young Jas Murphy first goal for the season, Grace Simpson back after breaking her nose two weeks ago, terrific and very brave good luck Tuesday young lady. Top Effort! Very strong games from Maggie Browne, Karla Alizzi and Meg Serong. Being not a tall side, Lainy, Meagan Daisy and Allanah wore down the Norwood talls, great effort tiny giants!
Best Players: Maggie Browne, Karla Alizzi, Meg Serong ,Stephanie Makeo ,Charlotte Docking
Goals: Grace Simpson 2 Karla Alizzi 2 Lucy Ongaro 2 Jade Mccormack 1 Amelia Lees 1 Jas Murphy 1 Maggie Browne 1 Stephanie Makeo

Teams: Mitcham V Coldstream
Summary: Round 11 saw us travel to Coldstream for the second time this year. The first quarter saw us off to a slow start and down by 2 goals at quarter time. Through some fantastic efforts by players like Denzell, Boothy, Sheraz, Tonnam and both Fletchers we were able to go into halftime with a 1 point lead. We came out with the same energy and intensity in the 3rd quarter but so did the opposition and they were able to go into the last change with a 5 point lead. Even though all players contributed and worked hard to try and get us over the line we fell 6 points short. It was wonderful to see all the boys work hard and take it right up to a top team and push them right to the final siren. Unfortunately we couldn’t win, but all the boys should be proud of their efforts
Goals: Jp 3, Sheraz 2, Denzell, Tonnam

Mitcham V Waverly Blues
Summary: With 17 players each, prior we both played without 1 wing. Having to structure up differently today due to player unavailability saw new opportunities for some of the boys, we got off to a flyer with a couple of quick goals due to really good team play, WB slowly crawled back into the game with us being in front at 1/4 time break, second term saw WB be harder for the ball and were smarter with the ball use to see them just in front just prior to the main break, late in the term we lost Declan off to hospital with a now confirmed break in his foot, he was on fire and a huge loss to us, all the best Dec on your recovery. Second half WB took control and ran out winners. All the boys battled hard, in particular Ethan Wu who never gave up. We roll again next week Vs FTG.
Best Players: Ethan Wu, Dominic Howell, Sam Balman, Mitchell BarrCongratulations also to Dominic Howell on achieving 100 games.
Mitcham under 16 Girls
Teams: Mitcham V Bayswater
Summary: The under 16 girls took on Bayswater at Bayswater’s home ground. We got off to a great start with the repeat entries into our forward line being the order of the day the Bayswater backline was under pressure for most of the first quarter. Over the day Bayswater certainly made the most of their chances in their forward line while we didn’t capitalise on our opportunities in front of goal. In an entertaining game of football Bayswater kept on trying right through to the end with Mitcham ending up winning the game by 21 points. It was a great effort by all the girls to get their first win on board after suffering some heavy losses during the season. The challenge now is to keep that momentum happening for the rest of the season. Our awards went to Kealeigh O’Dwyer for her brilliant efforts in laying plenty of tackles and constantly being where the ball is. Riley Holloway also played a great game. She backed herself to run off players and was always trying to get the ball forward to the advantage of her team. Jess Grace was fantastic playing the ruck unchanged all day. She did not lose a tap out and was constantly bring other players into the game
Best Players: Jess Grace, Riley Holloway, Hayley Petdro, Maddy Clarke, Kealeigh O’Dwyer.
